This is Gary Hausler's Santa Cruz 40 sailing on San Francisco Bay. The mainsail is 8.5 ounce dacron. Note that the battens are parallel to the seams in the sail. This is due to the fact the the sail has a bolt rope on the luff without sail slides, and is not stored on the boom, but removed, rolled up (stacking the leech), and stored in a long sausage bag.
